Looking For Me

I have looked at family photos and researched the Family tree. I'm not looking for family members I am just looking For me. I recognise my name in a mirror I see my face But who I am I do not know I'm just trying to find My place. The name I have lived with is the only one I have Known But hidden deep in my past are the secrets that have Grown. So who am I really I'm asking but you will not say. So I will keep looking for me until my life fades Away.

Your poem was profound as your words describe the searching perhaps for one's authentic self, the one others can't really help a person find. Find authenticity is, as you said in the last line, is a lifetime journey. Well done, Paul!
