Looking Back

Looking back I remember her fondly Her wide eyes filled with a sort of Curious innocence that is rarely found Looking back her joy was crystal clear Each moment of light that erupted From her and filled the room was One I can't forget I recall her smile that was always so big. With each kind word or embrace, It would blossom almost immediately. But then, I wish I could forget her pain. The sorrow in her eyes that ripped my Heart from my chest. Each wailing sob that pierced my ears And pulled me down into her world. What happened to her wide eyes? Why are they so broken now? Each Blink revealing a crack. I ask you, who hurt my little girl? The questions run through my mind. You know sometimes I hear her crying in The back of my head, wailing in pain and Begging to die.. Then I look back, back to the time I was her. And I remember the joy and wonder. Soon after that the cracks stop bothering me, Because I'm still that little girl, I'm still me.
