Look This Child
Look this child
Broken, streetised, glued.
Not to mean it’s wild
As a baboon
“Hello! He..he..hello!”the child says
As if there are airways,
All look away; look behind
As though the child
Is off his mind
Rejected, the child believes.
It’s not worth the sap
Of life in the leaves
Of the cheered up.
“What is love about
When I cannot afford a bar of soap
To get myself clean
So I stop covering with leaves?”he murmurs.
“When I get other’s property
I don’t mean to steal, be a thief;
If you could give me some little value,
I would leave all that as yours; have my party;
Then suit your belief”
This child’s life is a story
No great writer would write,
As it cannot sell.
It might contribute a screaming headline,
But when a notable is making
a guilt release offering.
Look this child!
