Look In the Mirror
Look in the mirror
and what do I see?
Myself?
Or who I use to be?
Where the stars used to shine
are but dull hazel eyes.
A mouth that says nothing,
nothing but lies.
Pale skin, once flawless
has marks upon the wrist.
Nobody has noticed
this obvious twist.
Once so open,
now she keeps to herself.
She keeps her feelings hidden
on a forgotten shelf.
They didn't seem to notice as
the new her unfurled.
A quiet girl
alone in the world.
Look in the mirror
and what do I see?
Myself,
not who I used to be.
