Look Deeper
You think me strong.
But I am not; nor ever have I been.
I have known success, but only that;
Which comes with standing by your dreams.
You thought me brave.
But I am not; nor ever have I been.
I faced down death, but you didn't know,
He is my dear sweet, bosom friend.
You thought me happy.
I was not; nor seldom have I been.
But duty holds, when joy does not;
Nor can Hope sustain.
Truth reigns, a treasure true;
And duty doth endure.
All else fades, in this dark world,
Except for love, which lives forever with our God.
