Long Rocky Road
This road is long and road is long and rocky
Like others Ive been on
At times its paved with silver and gold
And sometimes its a muddy mess
But whether its smooth or rocky
The Lord knows Ive done my best
I chose good and some were bad
But where my choices lead me
Have gotten me where I am
I have paid the price in honkytonks and bars across the land
Ive thrown my share of punches
Been knocked down on my can
Taken my chances at cards and dice
And fooled around at love
Some girls I chose to get rid of
And some of I never got enough
I walked in the face of cold dark wind
And came out on the sunny side
I swam across rivers to beat the tide
Im another man taking another stand
Waiting for my time
And when my time is over one thing I know is true
Life's been fun even if this road
Took a bite out of my youth
