Long Ago and Far Away
I creep into the light
Carefully and without clarity as to my final destination.
Along the road I see the hearts
Of those who were not swift
Enough
To avoid the jaws of
Creatures who fed on them
A wet rock sliding down
The banks of the shore
Into the crashing waves that
Toss it up
Into the clear air for moments
Before descending back into the maelstrom
How I yearn for that momentary clarity
That hides between crashing waves of doubt and turmoil.
The air opens my lungs to pure energy
My heart flutters and caroms
Within my chest
As some unknowable ray
Pierces the cloud of confusion
And provides a moment of
Peaceful Acceptance
