Lonely Road Shady Trees
Walking down
A lonely road
With trees on either side
The light is dim
And the sun is hidden
Behind the graying clouds
Rain is falling
The mud is thick
And loneliness
Surrounding
The trees ahead
Outlined in fog
Are dark and looming
Shadows
The path goes on
And never ends
On this lonely road
But up ahead
The sky is clearing
The sun is peaking through
The sky turns blue
And the mud dries up
Three feet ahead of me
A friend is standing there
And joins me on
This endless road
Not lonely any more
