Lonely Highway Cross

I saw a lonely cross on the side of the highway The name doesn't matter at least not to me anyways There were fresh flowers laid like those on a grave Leaving thoughts of my own stories to be made Could be that of a child a father or mother The last moment spent by a friend or a lover Triggering for me the thoughts on the passing of others From this side of life to that of another To hold memories tight of lost sons and lost daughters The moments we make as we stumble and falter Of the souls that we held that are with us no longer I saw a cross on the highway placed there to remember

Love the fact that you can make a poem out of any subject, especially ones like this! Very touching Mike!:)
