Lonely Feelings
There was a time I loved to live and lived to love.
And then the Lord saw fit to take my love away.
I pray that he is happy in his home above.
I fill my time with busyness throughout the day,
But in the lonely nights I miss his loving arms.
I wonder why the Lord took him and let me stay.
The long warm days of summer have distracting charms
That help to keep the lonely feelings under cover.
I well know that at night they will return in swarms.
Oh Lord, You've promised when this lonely life is over
I shall meet him and all my loved ones once again,
While the angels sing and all around us hover.
My Lord, I know you have been with me through the pain.
And I pray that I am not living on in vain.
