Lonely Dust Bunnies
The sunlight illuminates the dust in my room,
reminding me of what I have not done yet,
and what remains to be completed.
That which needs to be done now can wait until tomorrow.
This theory carries with it one simple flaw,
tomorrow there will be more doings that need to be done.
There will always be more doings that need to be done,
for if there weren't our existence would be most boring in the least.
The sunlight shines through my window,
and does not wait until tomorrow, so why should I?
Perhaps it is because I am too antsy to sit still,
or too anxious and worried to let my mind settle on one task.
"NOW", I sternly remind myself,
that which needs to be done cannot wait until tomorrow.
If it needs doing, do it now!
Open your eyes,-it won't be easy; it could take five minutes or two hours.
When the mind strays too far,
remember, tomorrow there will always be more doings that need to be done.
The sunlight illuminates the dust in my room,
poor lonely dust bunnies,
left with little attention to be had.
I'll attend to you,
just after I read this paper, send that e-mail,
and oh, wait until tomorrow.
