Listen to poem:
head empty awareness of skull like it is a texture I have placed my hand on the way you stroke marble dreaming of your gravestone eyes blink marionette style I could look for the strings should I have peripheral vision should I have peripheral vision? thoughts feel like words trapped behind unmoving lips instructions somehow bottlenecking rubbernecking at the scenes unseen my fingers tingle but words appear I wonder if I release enough will I be freed or forever tongue tied

This poem held my interest because of feelings and the ways they connect with the body. The idea of being a marionette was a possible lead for another story. I wonder.

I have used looking out from the eyes of a marionette before - it just seems very symbolic of awareness within a scripted life. I think touch and feel sometimes snap us into awareness too or out of it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and giving time to the poem. Appreciated x
