Living Without a Creative Thought
I watch the world go by
People rushing here and there
All looking the same
Drinking the same coffee
Reading the same news from the same papers
Going everywhere and going nowhere
Lost in their own world
Only hearing what they want to hear
Seeing what they are told to see
Their minds are long lost
Never having a creative thought
Imagination died in childhood
They live in a world of suits and rules
Meetings and million dollar deals
Concerned only with making money
They don’t see the beauty of a rainbow
They ignore the music of a hummingbird’s wings
They don’t look up to see the clouds, the stars or the northern lights
Nor do they smell the sweetness of a new baby’s breath
They live in a world of their own making
Never knowing the reality around them
They don’t know what they are missing
And sadly they never will
