Living In Tompkins Park In the Late 80
not one to judge I do not wear the sober robe
as my past less than pristine i lived a life of no riley
never begging for a meal I was given plenty
for the trade to be me with no greed
freedom a difficult journey as you have to pay the price
of your mistakes with pride and no fear to chose the streets
and no compromise to look in a mirror and give yourself a smile
as you never lost your generosity in the dire of hard time
the sky protecting you sleeping on a bench and a blue tarpaulin
a bounty to keep you dry on snowy nights and friends visiting you as
they worried more than you were knowing that you had to reach the bottom to climb back the ladder.
