Little Things

A picture, a CD, a broken promise. A sock that I missed when I burned your things. A memory of your kiss on the nape of my neck, The tears that make my eyes burn and sting. A diamond, sparkling on my finger, that was placed there with a blatant lie. Thoughts of your deception and betrayal, place a lump in my throat and I refuse to cry. I'm tired of being a victim, so no more. I'll stand here, single and utterly alone. I won't allow you to hurt me any further, So along with that sock, I'll burn your cologne. All the little things that remind me of you, I'll throw away, burn or give to the poor. I'm stronger than you thought me to be, I left our life together and I walked through a new door.
