Little the doubt in the worth of our world Little the doubt in the worth of our world Lost in the coils of drifting galactic swirls Little the men of high disposition bold Lost in the ooze of sticky carnal love twirls Bold enough to look the sun burn in the eyes Farther yet stare quasars rip space out of sky Bold enough to scale Wall of Galaxies’ ties Farther yet than light may travel and not die Make meaning out of phonemes in wild man screams Drown dreams of sense in the making of the arts Make meaning of signs and signals in our dreams Drown dreams in particle theory and such parts So much brain founders in such make-believe life Each people caste class and nation clasping knife. © T. You know - quite frankly - it's very humbling to listen to you. I did respond to your first comment, but it has turned to thin air in the meantime. Cynic? Me? More like Cyanide, I'd say. And you want me to pour some of it down the SoupBowl? I'd wager you're just pulling my leg, for the moment. An "honest take on poems" can sometimes be - depending on whose - a declaration of outright war. Have I the time to nurse others' wounds? I wonder. EGW - Wignesan

Hi again. This has been an interesting exchange. I just saw your reply to my previous comment plus this one. Thank you for giving merit to the thoughts I have shared. No, I do not consider it "pouring cyanide" if what one sincerely wants is to share his/her thoughts about another person's write in as diplomatic way as possible. I am really sorry to know about your ongoing struggle with the effects of the accident. Take care, Wignesan. Sending cyber hugs!

:-) Do I detect a trace of cynicism there? :-) I hope not. I myself have limited time for Soup so I tend to read at times the few I already know and the odd post that pops up with interesting title or form when I'm online. Having been here far longer than I am, I'm sure you know not a few are really interested in other writer's posts. Do try to come and visit, give your honest take on poems, whether positive or negative, so long as it's done in a nice way. Kim

Wow. Beautiful in both form and substance. I agree. Man is bold and arrogant enough to explore and make conclusive statements of the world he never was present to see from the beginning yet unable to resolve issues involving human relationships. A thought-provoking sonnet. I see that you've been a longtime member but been absent and returned in the recent months. Welcome back to Poetry Soup, TW! Nice to get acquainted with your work. Kim

Hi Kim! I have not read your poems, but you're no fledgeling. Anyone who can fully respond to a "meaningful" poem is a mature poetic persona in the medium. Yet, I fear having to read yours, but, first, give me time to pull myself together. No, I have still not recovered from the toss-up. I came down on my head and shattered the car's windshield and left a permanent dent on his ..what-you-may-call-it.

PS. Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad too that you are able to write now after that. I hope you have fully recovered. The world needs good writers to challenge and inspire fledgling ones like me. :-)

For once a bull's eye! Where did you climb out of? From behind the Wall of Gallaxies? It's gratifying to have such a response, I must say, so all my thanks in all humility, Kim. Where have I been in the meantime? On some comet snoozing… No, just for your sake: I was knocked down by a speeding car, head to foot in tatters. Say so only because you care. Thanks ever…Every good wish. Wignesan
