Little Did I Know

An ill wind September brought With a drizzle I did not savor, My boot on the sidewalk caught When luck did me no favor. While dashing home, it was my belief Foolishly and on a whim, I dodged every slippery leaf When with them I would swim. I sat there, embarassed as can be Wondering, what could be worse?, Caressing my scraped knee, Collecting my spilled purse. A voice came from the skies And asked if I could stand, Above me stood his azure eyes Outstretched was a helping hand. The coldness was not subtle And neither was the pain, He pulled me from the puddle And I did not mind the rain. Little did I know that day Just how a life can change, How love can be born to stay From a situation so strange. Underneath the streetlights' glow Kindness led me down the lane, And how little did I know That I could fall for the rain.

I love the imagery you've created in this verse. I remember a few times falling flat on my butt from unbalance, still do , not fun. Many Blessings my friend
