Little Bare Feet
Playful footsteps running through the door
muddy footprints all over the floor
Feet splashing in bath time waters
occasionally slipping in the shower
Feet over my head on the park swing
feet in the sand pit joyfully rolling
Hiding feet behind curtains and walls
standing on toes feeling tall
Angry stomping feet evading tears
happy jumping feet testing chairs
Soon these little feet will be ensconced in shoes
shouldering bags and heading to school
Hands wave goodbye, fore head kissed
but the little bare feet will be sorely missed.
