Listening To Poetry

Poetry is warm and friendly, nice to hear, healing, with room for everyone great and small. Even writers of anonymous verse, those great anodynes for the faithful, are remembered from time to time in rhyme if not in name. A name is only a temporary bit of cloth we put on to cover our naked self, but a word from god translated by the poet’s hand, is a word from god. God likes poets and doesn’t abandon them in times of strife or need, the word is always there to be heard by the active listener.
