Listen To Mother Earth

Listen to Mother Earth when it sadly speaks; its cry you must heed... feel despair in her chant. A net full of salmons rewarded me for my hard labor as delight made me free: to let my spirit roam through the prairie, and despite the sweat dripping...I was happy. Today, I look into the murky waters and they are full of dead fishes that attract the wildcat, as the riverbed becomes drier by the hours; why is the flow slow...hasn't the snow melted yet? Pristine and healthy this river once was; now, stop and listen to Mother Earth. Copyright 2010 by Andrew Crisci

Great use of imagery to convey an important reminder. Nature does have a way of speaking out and I do believe you have captured that beautifully in every line. Smiles from Lolita

A sonnet that tells a sad story, ending with a couplet sending a strong message. I do believe that people are becoming more aware of this problem and perhaps we might see the trend reversed. We can hope...cheers Margaret
