Listen Hard
The past can speak louder than the present
For with attention focused, we can hear
Listen hard, look for the lesson
Then move forward, without fear.
We must learn from our fathers before us
As they lived to speak even through the tomb
Listen hard, look for the lesson
To pass it on, to the new, in the womb.
It is not the intention to just live and die
We must share our experiences, findings with all
Listen hard, look for the lesson
Help your children to stand and not fall.
It is with reason, we all need to focus
On the many mistakes made in the past
Listen hard, look for the lesson
For today will be yesterday, time moves too fast.
