Line after line of fresh diapers A daily chore for years Clothesline held six dozen each day Unless weather unclear If there was rain or freezing air A wooden rack was filled Placed over the gas floor furnace Inside clean diapers spilled Two little ones not potty trained Now grown and on their own They hold up a pipeline of love Since the home nest have flown Inspired by Brian Strand's Contest Rewritten: October 1, 2016 Orginally written: March 30, 2015

We used cloth diapers for our firstborn. That is one memory I will never forget. This poem also brings back memories from my youth, when my mother used to hang all of out laundry on a clothesline. I always loved the smell but my jeans were always so stiff:) Thank you for the memories, Mrs Sara. needless to say, I love the poem:)

When we first married, all the clothes went out on the line which was a daily chore for me to take them out and pin them on the line then go get them when dry..They did smell so good..Back then once or twice a year we put the mattresses out in the sun to air out..I guess that the sunshine helped kill those dust mites, etc..Always a fresh clean scent when the day was done..Thanks for dropping by..Sara
