Like the Dunes
Coastal waters come charging in
To take control of the dunes
But bringing them up, the wind
Can also carry fumes
Hurricanes and tropical storms
Attack in massive waves
The dunes stand firm, yet torn
The surge attempts to win a slave
But even so, the aftermath
Shows the dunes are still there
Strength to withhold a storms wretched path
Now there’s sunshine and calm air
The dunes in a silly metaphor
Are people in reality
It is things average humans have seen before
These struggles are actuality
