Like It Was My First Breath
I swallow
tip back my head
to one side
and gasp
like it was my first breath
The cool liquid
creeps down my throat
and heats up my insides
and makes my body glow
like the cinders
in an old fashion stone hearth
Time move on
quickly
the glow fades
and then goes out
