Lightning
When I was young and the rain showered down
I'd watch from my bedroom enthralled with no sound
Listening to the rain it's rhythm tapping strong
Innocent as a child knowing no wrong
It softened the ground making things grow
It lightened the sky, with the nicest rainbows
Then came the thunder and the lightning would flash
Crackling the sky, into trees it would crash
From my bedroom window protected so surely
I'd watch Mother Nature unleashing her fury
As the storm passed and the blue skies shone through
The whole scene forgotten till the next storm did brew.
