Lighter

Being someone is something we need, By finding ourselves through some other mean, constantly seeking opinions to approve, Of all that we've done, and all that we do. Bury away, and put on an act, Make others love this person who lacks Something they feel, and cannot be seen, They cannot decipher a soul from a dream. Lost to a thought that grows past control, Lost in a maze with no one to know, Who am I now, and who have I been? Not true to myself, or those I called friends. Today is a lifetime ahead of the past, I realize with less, there's no shadow to cast, Stripped of the layers that built all this pain, I'm smaller and lighter and free from the chains.
