Life's Speed
Tiny smiles and helpless cries
First one then two sun lit skies
Mirrored reflection no longer me
Until the end they own my day
The wind of time blows life’s page
No longer young but far more sage
Their path is cluttered and haunts my mind
Realization I can’t fix it all
Arrows through heart each time they fall
Once so tiny, so quick so tall
I did not know they are life’s speed
Rushing madly to fulfill their need
We tried so hard yet did we succeed?
Well it now is yours, please do your best
Your mother and I now time to rest
