Life's Simple

Life was simple. You travel down this road, and think about nothing. Just traveling along and then suddenly there is a fork in the road. You have to choose left or right. This time you choose left. Not sure if that was the right choice but you continue down this path. You can not go back, for this is a one way street. Not knowing where this road will end you keep on going. All of a sudden there is three ways to go. So which do you choose? Keep going straight, turn left, or turn right. You choose to turn right. As you are traveling down this new path you have chosen it starts to bend. Turning around the corner, you can’t see what’s around this bend. So you keep on going. The road is still turning, life swirling around, not knowing where it will stop. You see the straight road ahead as you realize that this road just took you in a circle. Back on the small dirt path, your life seems to be back on track. Just then you see the sign ROAD WORK AHEAD. The road starts getting bumpy. And you have to slow down to dodge the obstacles that lay ahead. The road is now paved and you follow it for a little longer. There is now five different ways to go and you close your eyes and just choose. It is a little path that you have chosen and you follow this path missing the sign that will predict your ending. This road continues to get harder and harder to handle and you wonder if you should turn around and go back. But its to late, your already in to deep. You can’t turn around now so you keep going. Still getting harder, wishing you chose a different path. But this one is yours. It is how it’s going to be, that sign was right. You didn’t see it but that sign said… DEAD END. That is exactly what life has become. Nothing left to follow, the road has ended. Life isn’t the same simple road it used to be. No paths left to choose, no bends left to overcome. Just that one dead end. The end of the road, the end of your life.
