Life's Sea Stones
Some the color of gray and knotty sea green
Smooth to the touch as they rest in waters of seaweed
Some with happy faces clustered in mounds
Some without smiles wearing frowns
Some sadly withered and worn down from their journey
All of them here and gone for a lifetime and a eternity
Some carry a message and a voice to be heard
Rippling fluidly like a poet writing their words
Some broken and scorned and afflicted beyond recognition
Some searching endlessly for their lifelong mission
Some shaped round and bright as the moon
Some shaped like teardrops heard wailing with the loons
Some washed away never to return, then some do
Life’s stones of the sea rolling wildly in the blue
