Life's Sea Stones

Some the color of gray and knotty sea green Smooth to the touch as they rest in waters of seaweed Some with happy faces clustered in mounds Some without smiles wearing frowns Some sadly withered and worn down from their journey All of them here and gone for a lifetime and a eternity Some carry a message and a voice to be heard Rippling fluidly like a poet writing their words Some broken and scorned and afflicted beyond recognition Some searching endlessly for their lifelong mission Some shaped round and bright as the moon Some shaped like teardrops heard wailing with the loons Some washed away never to return, then some do Life’s stones of the sea rolling wildly in the blue

"Life's Sea Stones" is a great title for this intriguing poem, Laura. It's brilliant the way you are able to capture people's feelings in your words. Indeed, yours is "a voice to be heard." And I appreciate your comments on "Robbing the Dead." True story that's really "Got My Goat" right now. As if losing a father isn't bad enough!#? Best wishes, Carolyn

Laurie I loved this poem, I could actually see those stones rolling wildly on those ocean waves,I really like the line,"rippling fluidly like a poet writing their words" that is exactly what it is like, well done Spirit and Soul, Constance
