Life On Mars
Life On Mars
Horizons on the red planet rise
To the thinning skies powdery pink
Smoke like, ghost like creatures, pillars of sand
Lifted ever up in the cool swirl Martian winds
Nearly airless as they come to life
Cyclonic Cyclopes dust devils arrive
Grain like monster machines take shape
Terrorizing the silent planet’s sleep
Mars on the rise only wants to keep the peace
To watch the distant sun go by
Cliffs on the other hand, sit perched for centuries
Hold their own in shadow and in light
Observe the show below, delighted
Desert planes with ghostly pillars
Made of sand, married with the timid wind
Came to life upon those seas
Dancers on the lonely planet land
To act for audiences who did not show
Then lifting over rocks and mounds
Life on Mars moves on to other spots
For more performances
