Life of Sally Lou

A Sally Lou walks down the street Always walks bare feet She can’t afford a pair of shoes She is always getting used She found a new lover That will never get below her She is heading to Maine And her lover is driving her insane Sally Lou dumped her new lover That got below her She is leaving Maine Before she goes insane She walks her dog The dog sits on a log She sleeps good and sleeps all night Wakes up every morning all right One morning the dog was licking her face Slinging hair all over the sheets of lace Later in the day she was found dead She had died sleeping in bed
