Life In the Light
Reflecting off the surface of water,
It allows us to see bricks and mortar,
It gives us colour for our escapade,
Shining through and gives us shade.
Melts the ice and makes water drip,
Makes a beautiful sunset on a trip.
Instead of leaving us out to roam,
Sometimes it can guide us home.
The absence brings forth pitch black.
Beauty in front and void at the back.
Shows us the sharpness of the knife,
Fragments of rays forming our life.
Better than the punchline of any joke,
Presiding over embers and smoke.
Beaming through the rain and snow,
It started our lives, it'll end our show.
