Life Guard
I am silent, my screams rest
In the back of my throat
My heart beats viciously beneath my breast
I struggle to hold to a sinking boat
My lungs breathe the sea
Yet somehow, I still am alive
Currents, waves roll about around me
I am still, though I futilely strive
You yell and reach for my hand
But I am so far away
Through tempests, will you stand
And help me find my way?
