Life Goes On

Despite the heat and obtrusive dryness a morning glory or two survives. Wrapped around the rose bush stem it climbs and blooms in soft gentle pink. Over to the side nearby clinging to the stalk of a bloomed out lily another appears a powdery blue. Hidden in the yellowing evergreens one more appears alone and solitary draped in passionate purples. These few have managed to escape the untamed jaws of the ravenous groundhop interloper. Not a breeze stirs the trees as the sun burns and glows. Summer lingers in spite of the calendar as September calls for fall to come,. Life goes on, even in the autumn years and new wonders lie just around the corner.

This poem spoke to my heart so eloquently. My husband just passed away 9 days ago. I have a published book named Sweet Morning Glory and have morning glories blooming on my fence and could so relate to it. Thank you for sharing!
