Life Defined Within Time
Was I ever what I was before?
Is who I am now less or more?
There were times I thought I could fly
Yet because of fear I failed to try
Sure I can't do what I used to do
Limitations are many, quite a few
Still I remember me and you
We were so young, that is true
It seems age has caught up with us
We can't fight it, so why make a fuss
Thinking back, it all seemed so simple
Moving among the young and nimble
The many things that I liked best
I cherish them and forget the rest
Now we are older, wiser and blessed
I believe we are more, not truly less
Our lives are not over, there is more to give
Sometimes being older teaches us to live
So try looking into these mischievous old eyes
There is a young heart, masked within the wise
