Life
Look in the mirror
Years before
Your simple reflection, nothing much more
But inside is where your personality shines
Like a sun peeking out through the blinds
The familiar face and familiar smile
That kind personality should stay for a while.
Fast-forward to maybe
Ten years now
Your simple reflection, yet you wonder how
When people tell you that so much has changed
What do they mean, you're still the same
But inside is where your personality dims
Like a cloud on the sun on evil whims
The familiar face and familiar smile
This new personality might stay for for a while.
Now look in the mirror
On this very day
Your simple reflection, nothing's wrong today
Maybe not on the outside, but can you tell from there
When greed overtakes, and you don't even care
About on the inside, your personality's black
The sun disappeared, not to come back
As its lost in the galaxy of all-consuming space
Sucking you in, you're out of the race
The familiar face and brand-new frown
There's no personality, your heart has fallen down.
