Life
Perched on a bench, water tracing paths on skin
Eyes fixed on gasps, continuance thrills
Tempted often, to find a place among
If lessons were had, desire might be quelled
Reality a dream, overlooked by restless minds.
A snack fulfils, observation hungers
Limbs so fluid, questioning effort's existence
Practice and perfection, a product of pulchritude
Disturbance adds character, to a portrait of stillness
Nature makes man; man is a part of nature.
A momentary lapse, a seagull dips to reach
So fast in its motion, the distraction blinked away
Stepping toward, a shrivelled form searching for a towel
Fingers remember placement, purchase found in a gesture
The world can be cold, attention can warm.
Light gradually reduces, a reflection on the surface
Indifferent to the set, purpose consumes the moment
Watching still, though words now exchanged with another
Majestic in a way, colours hug onto a figure
Probably a day spent, time was seen in progress.
Items disappear, returning to convenience's carriage
Ripples steady away, bodies depart at leisure
Sounds begin to calm, serenity dances around
Though concealed, life exists within
Waking to sit again, tomorrow can wait another moment.
