The lighting, it was over-bright. Her heart was black, her brain - insane. Proud, majestic in full moon light. The lighting, it was over-bright. A sword to wheel her pagan smite. Libussa now begins her reign. The lighting, it was over-bright. Her heart was black, her brain - insane. Libussa - from the film "The Pagan Queen" THE PAGAN QUEEN is based on the Czech legend of Libuse, the Slavic queen of 8th century Bohemia. This is an excellent 'sinister' poem, Francis. Congratulations on your placement in this Premiere Contest with its very short winner's list! Sandra

This has all the qualities of the sinister write I was looking for, and the extra interest of Libussa. Congratulations on your win in the triolet contest, Francis. Julia

Francis, when you read my In strangler's Wood poem, you did see the same poem twice. Tanka version was for a challenge and I had to take that poem and transform it to tanka. So you were seeing the original poem with the tanka being just the short five line poem I wrote beneath it to show it transformed in another form. Hope that makes it clear!
