Maybe not by the book...but I don't care much for the rules anyway...I think its very cool. And to your question...I shot the snake...the dog (dogs can take a rattler bite better than people) her nose swelled up to the size of a softball. I felt terrible for her....but it was a little comical.

I don't know about that. if not something a magazine would accept , I think at the very least, it has the elements of haiku. The contrast in that third line is really awesome!

This is a tremendous and enlightening write my friend! You have written a wonderful Haiku, even though you said it wasn't a true Haiku...though I believe, as Nette said, that this is a contemporary Haiku...this is an awesome poem Sara!I loved reading this delightful piece, such an amazing poem, Great Work!!
