Liar
For a sense of safety
She conjures them
Only in her mind
Is where they're condemned
Most of the time
She believes they are real
She longs for the words they say
She longs for the way they feel
She recounts them daily
She knows every story
Memorizing, internalizing
False memories in her inventory
She's worried she'll forget
But she doesn’t let them know
In her mind she puts on
An elaborate show
She's never been caught
Her record is spotless
Know one would suspect
She has a lot to confess
They can't be lies
They just can’t be
Because with them
Is the only time she is free
