Letting Jay's Fire Light the Way
"Letting Jay’s Fire Light the Way"
(written by Michelle L. LeBlanc 01/04/2023)
Dedicated to my son, Jayden Donald LeBlanc

Today marks 4 months since you passed away
And I want you to know I think of you each and every day
I won't become hopeless or give up the fight
You will always be my bright shining light
Today I'm out walking and letting nature inspire
I’m finding ways to refocus to reignite my fire
I know this is something you would want each us to do
You would certainly want us to find ways to keep pressing through
Sometimes it's easy for us to lose sight, amidst all the pain
But so important to keep perspective, of what’s still to obtain
Like peace of mind and being thankful for those still in our lives
And finding our smile and helping others learn to thrive
So let’s find a way by changing our daily routines
For Jay wouldn’t want us to give up on attaining our dreams
‘Get out there and live your life while you have your own
Please don't seep into misery over my gravestone’
That's what he would want us to hear him say
So let's look up and be inspired by him today
Remember some days it may be one step at a time
While other days, we might feel like we've fallen behind
But the important thing is to never lose sight
We can choose to let Jayden be our guiding light
He certainly had so many dreams and goals
He was known to be one of the beautiful souls
Lots of energy, oh yes, he surely did have
He always enjoyed sparking fun to get a good laugh
His outgoing personality was so vibrant and strong
Conversation was never difficult, when he came along
He had a zeal to learn and to educate himself
Yes, he wanted to get out there and grab life off the shelf
So I'm refocusing my mind again today
I hope you will join me…Letting Jay’s Fire Light the Way!
