Letter To Our Heroes

Hi Guys You don’t know me and I know we will never ever meet guess you are on a mission, which you need to complete Can I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you make which will keep you apart from loved ones, family, children, partner or a wife - they are left alone whilst you continue with your forces life It must be so so hard, I know you are doing a job you trained for it’s such a tragedy that you are fighting and our world is still at war Fighting – why cant we all live together in harmony and you can return to be in the arms of your family May God keep you safe and I pray that all wars will cease and we live together in safety and more importantly live in peace 08~26~14 N/A in previous contest I had only been writing 6 months when I wrote this rhyme for a contest. I like the simplicity of lines yet they still manage to convey a powerful message of thanks but also for hope for peace in the future

Thanks for the lovely comments as ever Tim. I used to have 3 penpals in the forces during the Falklands War one of them was the love of my life from when I was 16 - we were incredible friends yet never took it further. I will never forget going to his house and meeting his mum who said ' oh you are Jan the girl Ian is going to marry - he went out of one door i went out the other was so embarrassing - we never dated it would have totally spoiled our friendship and yes we are still in touch at Christmas - happy memories :-) Jan xxx
