Let's imagine
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is coming again
Ho-hum, can we all pretend
It's a deeply meaningful holiday
not a quick winter weekend get-a-way
So let's pretend, let's imagine we care
Remember MLK? Do you dare? ...
The last of the great political preachers
the kind we used to call 'inspirational speakers'
He urged us to grab our passions from dusty shelves
to utilize them to be our best selves
Gunned down by a bigot's bullet
for challenging us to live life to the fullest
~ Treasure his memory. We may never
see his like again. ~
