Lets Be Alright For a While
it's funny how time walks away
I don't feel like i have that same grace today
It's like everything hurts
so much more than they say it does
It's like tuesdays no longer remember your smile
scars are souvenirs of the loneliest child
the memory itself writes you away
but here's to your illusions of us
she said
you can't replace what you've taken
as we coast
all through these dreary moments
life becomes a place too vacant
hidden by the shadows
make up and pure blush
sometimes you want
the whole world to hush
let me turn my head off for a while
site back in the southern sun and smile
reminisce on how i thought
life would be as a child
searching for that person
that makes life alright for a while
