Let Us Make a Change
We are in the most aversive of times
and need to keep our children close
like fresh roses soothing the mortal nose,
lest we lose them to some common crimes.
Captains wake up, our weak ships are sinking,
I see teardrops falling from future skies
and raindrops rolling down the children's eyes;
the looming flood is not meant for drinking.
By the cheap chances we are taking,
we freely flaunt some precious lives
to those who take solace in guns and knives;
it is time to change the choices we are making.
Politician have more plans than purpose,
all we hear are campaigns and complaints.
They burnish castles with colouful paints,
but the poor man's grave is void of rose.
We are the world to make a better day...
the custodian of a brighter tomorrow.
Let us not swim in the stream of sorrow;
lest out hopes and dreams dry like hay.
