Let These Things Be

Let there be sunshine, let there be smiles, let there be gladness all across the miles, let no one be an enemy to me – oh Lord, let these things be. Let there be true friends, let there be lovers, let goodness flow like deep-running waters, let there be beauty in all that I see – oh Lord, let these things be. Let there be mercy and let there be love, let all your people share what they have, let man exist in complete harmony – oh Lord, let these things be. Let the guns melt by the heat of the sun, let warring nations live together as one, let no bondage be, let mankind be free – oh Lord, let these things be. Let the white dove sail, let it soar and fly, let it take wings to the bright, sunny sky, let the robin sing at the break of day – dear Lord, let these things be. *****
