Let Peace Be
They stomp on it so recklessly
Without flinching, without a thought
If His Mercy was not ingrained deeply
The earth would make us swallow our faults
Just turn around and think for once
If peace could reign among humans
It all depends … a gram … an ounce
Of compassion without a fence
You’ll see people of all colors
All races, genders … from planet earth
Embracing, helping, learning from each other
A right instilled in us from birth
“Salam”: Arabic word for peace
A simple word, no recipe
Able to turn our lives to bliss
If only we let “peace to be…”
