An island you are So steadfast you are Square against evening and looming dread of shadows deep within I stand here paralyzed with feet in mud and sinking If I crawl your way will you open your door for me and let me in? Will you light a candle and send the shadows out the backdoor? Will you let the blue sky in and color our days with a gold lining will you? *** July 22, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

A wonderful plea for succour. The character seems hesitant to approach for fear he will be turned away. Which would be more painful that his situation is already. Well done felt the dilemma clearly.

Heidi thanks and hugs. No, i was luckily not hurt. This poem was really inspired by a picture of a barn in a field. And I used it to create a metaphor.
