Let Me Be

In this moment, Can I give you a piece, If only a morsel of my thoughts? Would you tide them over, With your own stormy thoughts? Or would you ride mine like waves, And let the depths take you? Let me be myself, And I promise I will fly beside you Unto skies you only dream on peaks of ecstasy Upon highlands gleaming with hope’s reverie Would you find these words too overcast for ingesting, Or in a heartbeat, would you swallow me whole, Into a weather out-weathered? Internalize this song, Forever and always! Let me be myself, And you will find the path toward light Toward the beaten route of stranger words That seek beauty over other worlds -For my friend, Richard

Personally Laura, I find this poem to be a powerful metaphor for Truth's unapologetic indestructibility, and it's graceful passion...J.A.B.
