Lessons Learnt In Life
Work,
Focus,
Be your best,
Try harder still.
My teacher tells me
Reading improves the mind.
Why is that I ask myself,
In tables tests I must do well,
Preparing for spelling tests each week,
It’s all in preparation for high school.
I’ll never use algebra out of school,
PE’s a total waste of my time,
I’ll never need my tables too,
I’ll never need to read time,
Graphs will be out you see,
My Dad disagrees,
These I may need,
No I plead,
Never
Used!
I wrote this poem on 30th September 2015. It's about what I'm told at my primary school by my teacher and how frustrating and useless some of the things I have to learn really are. I'm sure I'll never need things like algebra when I grow up and leave school but I still have to learn it. Even though it's really difficult! Dad says he uses things like algebra almost every day but I hope that's not true! I actually like school it's just that some things I learn feel a bit of a waste of time and I'd rather do the things I enjoy. Mum says you have to do the bad bits to appreciate the good ones. I'm not so sure about that either!
